The list below offers some details about the clinical trials that we are currently screening for.

These are only partial lists of study requirements. The requirements for patient participation in any clinical trial are very strict. This is first and foremost to protect the health and well-being of the patients, and also to ensure the quality of the data generated by the study.

Alzheimer's Disease

Trial C51

Study lasts approximately 46 days, which includes one 6 night overnight stay and 1 follow-up visit.

55-85 year old males and females. Diagnosed with Mild to Moderate Alzheimer's Disease. Patients must be on a stable daily dose of Aricept 10 mg for at least the last 90 days. Female patients must be post-menopausal or surgically sterile. Male patients must be surgically sterile or willing to use effective contraception during the study period. Patients must score 18-26 on the MMSE at screening. Patients must also have a reliable caregiver willing and able to attend all study visits and provide information about the patient per study requirements.

Diabetes Type II

Trial C54

Study lasts about 7 weeks, including screening visits, a 17-day stay and a follow up visit.

Male and female patients between the ages of 18 and 60 with diagnosed Type 2 Diabetes for at least 3 months. Patients must treat their diabetes with diet/exercise, or Metformin, or Sulfonulureas, or DPP-IV inhibitors, or Exenatide. Female patients must be post-menopausal or surgically sterile. Participants must be willing to wash-out from their anti-diabetic and cholesterol meds. A 21-day caffeine restriction is required during the study.

Trial C52

Study lasts 12 weeks and includes a 5-night visit.

Men and women between the ages of 18 and 65 with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus who have been taking a steady dose of Metoformin for the last two months. Women must be of non-childbearing potential. Participants must be in general good health, have no soy or lactose allergy, and drink alcohol moderately.

Congestive Heart Failure

Trial B30

Study lasts approximately 1 month, which includes one 2-night stay with 1 follow-up return visit.

Patients must be between the ages of 18 and 85 with mild to moderate stable heart failure and otherwise in fair health. Female patients must be post-menopausal or surgically sterile. Male patients must be willing to use two approved forms of contraception for the duration of the study. Participants must also pass urine drug test at screening.

Heatlhy/Cholesterol

Trial C36

7 visits over 2 months, including one 2 night stay at the clinic

Participants must be between the ages of 18 and 70 and should have high cholesterol levels, but not have any other major medical problems. Female participants must not be capable of having any children, and male participants must be willing to use highly effective forms of contraception for the duration of the study.

Lupus

Trials B10, B64, and C08

Three different studies. Depending on the trial, the length of the studies range from 169 days to 365 days.

Men and women between 18 and 70 years with a diagnosis of SLE, but who are in otherwise fair health. Women may not be pregnant or nursing, and men must be willing to use approved methods of contraception. Participants who have a history of drug or alcohol abuse in the last year will be excluded from the study.

COPD

Trial C35

2 - 3 outpatient visits

Men and women between 40 and 65, current or ex-smokers with a clinical history of moderate to severe Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). Participants who have experienced an acute exacerbation of COPD requiring emergency treatment within 30 days of screening or hospitalization within 90 days of screening will be excluded from the study.
